How funny?? That an unpleasant sensation (pain) felt in one part of the body can actually be caused by an injury somewhere else. In laymen terms, ‘malay’ laymen terms to be exact, we define this condition as cubit peha kiri, terasa peha kanan. For medical students, we know it as Referred Pain!! This quite similar phenomenon, in Psychological terms (also used a lot in Professional Practice Semester 1) is known as Empathy. Both Referred Pain and Empathy is neurological in nature, although the former is more of a PNS condition and the latter a CNS. Nevertheless, both phenomenons possess their own intricate mechanisms that we should try to reflect and ponder upon. May our tadabbur (penghayatan) draw us closer to the All-Mighty, the All-Knower.
It Is Enough for Evil to Triumph When The Good Man Does Nothing
If we look around us, try to contemplate and reflect..subhanallah my friends.. We would see too many black dots on this beautiful colourful painting called life! Things that are not supposed to be in this world are now, the majority of things. If we walk every 10 meters in our country, it is almost impossible to get our eyes off something sinning. If we walk every 10 minutes in the world of cyberspace, it is also pretty impossible of not wasting our time doing something unbeneficial. Watching the news for 10 minutes would tell us how miserable the world is currently. With wars and massacres, bribery and poverty, corruption and underdevelopment, as well as discrimination and division, the ummah really is in a misery!! And these black dots are ruining this Godly-painted life almost completely!! There is no one else to be blamed of this situation except for mankind ourselves, as how Allah Taala mentioned in Surah Ar-Rum verse 41 “Evil has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (through oppression and evil deeds), that Allah may make them taste a part of which they have done, in order that they may return (to Allah)”.

One-Way Road
But wo my friends..Let us not have a whining and blaming attitude towards our current condition. Let us accept it as a test from Allah and diagnose what prescription ought we to offer to help cure this disease. It might be the case, that all of the fahsya’(mungkar) and fasaad(kerosakan) happening around us today, is really a result of our own ignorance/laziness/passiveness in the past and present. Having said that, at times we actually do realize that our ummah is deteriorating, but.. ‘What can I do??’.. ‘We are too weak’.. ‘We should pray for Allah’s help’. Hence, as time goes on, we embed in our own souls the bystander apathy (penonton) kind of attitude!! And allow the situation to overwhelm us. Let me put a big, red STOP sign in your head and heart. Bros and Sis, in fact, this reality of ours is already too bad that it couldn’t become worse anymore. The only way to go is a one-way road, which is to go UP!!

God-Spot Activation is the Prescription
Dearest Friends, let us wake up and activate the God-Spot in our hearts. Let us make the nervous-system of this ummah function as it is supposed to. Let each and every one of us become the neurons that would carry the flag of the ummah anywhere we go in this world. May we are able to sense all of the feelings that ‘our body’ is feeling. Do not allow our differences to blind us nor stop us from relating to our ummah’s issues, for these differences are merely different parts of one single body. InshaAllah our strategy as this ummah’s personal doctor is to understand the history of the Presenting Complaint, to diagnose and learn the Past History as well as to do a bit of more of Investigation before we prescribe the proper Management. And inshaAllah, let us have a firm believe that the Prognosis is superbly good as the prognosis is not of mine, but has been confirmed by Allah as long as the pre-requisites are fulfilled. So..the real people’s people, please stand up!!
